LATEX FIT — 0.4 MM LATEX
This garment is designed with approximately 7% negative ease for a skin-tight fit. The flat garment measurements are
intentionally smaller than the body measurements. For the best fit, your body measurements should be approximately
5–8% larger than the garment circumference. If you are between sizes, we recommend sizing down.
Latex is a very specific material; therefore, it needs special care and attention. If you take care of latex properly, it will serve you for years.
The garments we send are ready to use, meaning:
- They are already polished but not to their highest potential. If you want a shinier effect, we recommend using Vivishine glans polish. The garments are covered with talcum powder on the inside.
- You can carefully put them on by adding more talcum powder if you feel the garment sticks too much to your skin, or by applying lubricant onto your body and the garment itself.
- The best lubricant is silicone-based. Water-based lubricant also works, but it dries out faster.
- Using more lubricant will make dressing easier.
- Do not use oil-based lubricants.
- For bottoms such as leggings or tight sleeves, treat them like tights: scrunch them up fully, apply lubricant, and pull them up gradually, making sure the material lies flat against your skin.
- Be careful with long nails, as they can tear the latex. We recommend placing your whole hand under the crease and gently pulling it into position.
- Remove all jewelry before dressing. Jewelry can rip the latex and may also cause discolouration. Metals such as copper, brass, and nickel can permanently stain latex, especially lighter colors and white latex.
- Keep latex garments away from direct sunlight, as UV exposure may bleach the material.
- Do not fold latex garments, as creases can become permanent.
- After use, clean your latex.
- Make a bath with warm water and mild dish soap. Stir it gently, take the garment out, and rinse it under the shower.
- If it’s for short-term storage, you can make another bath with lukewarm water and add a product like Vivishine (follow the instructions regarding the water/Vivishine ratio). Dip the garment in, stir, and hang it under the shower until it’s dry (air-dry only).
If it’s for long-term storage, after following the cleaning instructions, hang the garment to fully air-dry. Once dry, apply talcum powder and hang the garment in a garment bag away from sunlight.
There isn’t much you can do, which is why proper care is important—but there is one solution you can try:
- Take two pieces of latex (preferably in the same color). Apply a generous amount of silicone lube on the outside and inside of the stain, as well as on both latex pieces.
- Place the stained area between these scraps and apply a heavy object on top (like books).
- Leave it for 24 hours. The stain might transfer to the scraps.
No promises!
Sometimes white spots may appear on your latex—it can look like it’s been bleached. There’s also a solution for that:
- Apply a thick layer of silicone grease and leave it for 24 hours.
- The latex will “feed” and often return to its original color.
This happens quite often with black latex.
